So my oldest is now 7 and loving first grade. 7!! I am having a hard time with her being 7. Her tender heart is so sweet and helpful and caring and I want to keep it that way forever. However, I am also excited to watch the person she is becoming. I love watching her play and laugh with her friends. And I love watching her learn and the excitment and pride she gets as she completes her newest goal. But, sometimes this little 7 year old will give me a glimpse into what teenage years have in store for us-and (I am actually just shaking my head at a loss for words) Martina McBride has a song about teenage daughters and as a mom of one toddler girl (at the time) I laughed thinking from the perspective of the daughter and not the mom. Now, thinking about it as the mom, it is very fitting. However, Martina also has a song called , 'In my Daughter's Eyes' and that song is also just as fitting. Because in my daughter's eyes, I see how wonderful life can be. How much love there can be in the world.
